A new furnace without the guesswork

Replacing a furnace is a big decision, and most people make it under pressure, often after a repair bill that no longer makes sense. We slow it down a little. We look at your current system, measure what your home actually needs and explain your options in plain terms, so you are choosing a furnace, not just accepting one.

We don't charge for installation or replacement estimates, and the full price is on paper in front of you before our crew touches your old unit. Our crew works under a Washington license and bond, backed by $1M in general liability insurance, so your home is protected if something goes wrong during the job.

Timing matters as much as the equipment. Most replacements take one full day, and we tell you up front if yours will run longer. If a part is delayed or a job ahead of you runs over, you hear it from us first, with a new time, not silence.

Everything that comes with your new furnace

Sized by the numbers
We match the furnace to your square footage, insulation, windows and floor plan. Too big, and it cycles on and off and wears out early. Too small, and it never stops running on cold nights.
Choice of fuel and efficiency
We put in natural gas, propane and electric furnaces, and we explain how standard and high-efficiency models compare on your heating bills.
Hauling off the old furnace
We disconnect your old unit and take it with us, so there's no heavy metal cabinet left sitting in your basement or garage.
Gas, power and vent hookups
We tie the new furnace into your gas or propane line, your electrical supply and your existing supply and return connections, then confirm venting and combustion air. A high-efficiency furnace gets its own PVC vent and condensate drain, both installed by us.
Permit and inspection handled
We get the mechanical permit your area requires and set up the inspection, and we let you know roughly when it should happen so you aren't left waiting.
First startup and a quick lesson
We fire the furnace, check the safety controls, set your thermostat and show you how to swap the filter before we head out.

When a furnace replacement starts to make sense

  • Repair bills keep coming

Several repair calls in one season, or a single repair priced at a big chunk of a new furnace, usually means your money goes further on a replacement. We'll tell you honestly which way we'd lean.

  • The unit has 15 to 20 winters behind it

Over the years, heat exchangers, inducer motors and control boards wear down. An aging furnace also uses more fuel to deliver the same warmth.

  • Some rooms stay cold

When a furnace falls behind, it runs and runs while the bedrooms at the far end of the house never warm up.

  • Heating costs climbing

A gas, propane or electric bill that keeps rising while your habits stay the same can mean the furnace is getting less efficient.

  • Yellow flame, soot or strange odors

Any of these may signal a combustion problem or a cracked heat exchanger. Turn the furnace off and call us. Our emergency HVAC repair service takes urgent calls 24/7.

How install day runs

  1. 1

    Free in-home estimate

We visit at a time that works for you, look over your current furnace, venting and gas supply, and take measurements. You get a written quote with the model, the work and the price spelled out.

  2. 2

A date and an arrival window

Once you approve, we set your install date and give you a morning arrival window. If parts or weather shift the plan, we call you as soon as we know.

  3. 3

    Protect, remove and install

We lay down floor protection along our path, shut off fuel and power, and take out the old unit. The new furnace goes in and gets connected, usually within the day.

  4. 4

    Test and hand over

We start the system, check gas pressure and temperature rise, test the safety switches and clean up. Then we show you the basics and answer your questions.

What goes into the price of a new furnace

No two houses are alike, so we see yours before we put a price on the job. The written quote breaks out each piece of the work, and nothing is added unless you agree to it first.

Capacity and efficiency
Bigger and more efficient furnaces carry a higher upfront price. Over a long Palouse winter, a high-efficiency model can win back part of that through lower fuel use.
Which fuel you use
Changing fuels, for example from electric to propane, means gas line and venting work that a same-fuel swap skips.
Vent work
Going from a standard furnace to a high-efficiency one calls for new PVC vent pipe and a condensate drain. In older houses, the chimney may also need a liner or the vent an update.
Where the furnace goes
A basement or garage with room to move keeps things simple. A tight crawlspace or attic slows the job and can mean a second installer, and your quote accounts for it.
Permit and extras
Permit fees depend on where you live. Extras such as a new thermostat or a better filter cabinet show up as separate lines, so the choice is yours.

Common questions about furnace installation

Something not covered here? (509) 210-6959

How much time does a new furnace take to install?

Most replacements wrap up in a single day. Changing fuels or reworking the venting can stretch it to two. Your quote tells you which applies, and we'll update you if that changes.

How long will my house go without heat?

Typically only while we're working. During the coldest weeks we plan the job so heat is running again by evening, and if we hit a delay you hear about it right away.

Do you charge for the estimate?

No. Installation and replacement estimates are free. A written quote comes before any work starts, and you can take your time deciding.

Should I repair my current furnace or replace it?

Repair is sometimes the better choice. We look at the furnace's age, the repair price and how well it still heats, then share what we found. If fixing it makes more sense, we'll say so, and every repair comes with a 1-year labor warranty.

Is a heat pump worth considering?

Some homeowners add a heat pump alongside a furnace, and others replace the furnace with one. We can price both during your estimate. Our heat pumps page has more on that route.

Do you install furnaces beyond Garfield?

We do. We put in furnaces in Colfax, Pullman, Moscow, Cheney, Clarkston and nearby. Our service areas page has the details.
