Emergency HVAC Repair in Garfield, WA

When the heat cuts out overnight or the air conditioner gives up in the middle of a July hot spell, we answer any hour of any day. You get an honest arrival window, a call if that time shifts and a written quote before any part is replaced.

When a breakdown can't wait until Monday

Some problems are fine to schedule for later. Others are not: no heat when the temperature drops below freezing, a burning smell from the furnace, or an AC that stops during a stretch of triple-digit afternoons with someone elderly or very young in the house. That is what our emergency HVAC repair is for.

The hardest part of a breakdown is usually the waiting and not knowing. So when you call, we tell you plainly when a technician can realistically get to your home, and if a job ahead of us runs long, we call you with an updated time instead of leaving you watching the driveway. There are no emergency or after-hours fees, so a midnight visit is priced the same way as a weekday one.

If your issue can safely wait for a regular visit, we will tell you that too. Our AC Repair and Furnace Repair pages cover the day-to-day side of the work.

What an emergency visit includes

A real arrival window

We give you a time range we expect to keep, based on where our technicians are right now. If that changes, you hear it from us by phone.

Safety check first

Before anything else, the technician checks for gas odors, scorched wiring and carbon monoxide risk. If something is unsafe, we shut it down and explain why before talking about repairs.

Diagnosis you can follow

We test the system, track down the failed part and walk you through what we found. When you approve the repair, the diagnostic fee is credited toward it, so you are not paying twice.

A written quote before work begins

You see the price in writing and decide. Nothing gets replaced until you say yes.

Repair on the spot when possible

Our vans carry common parts like igniters, flame sensors, capacitors, contactors and blower motors, so many fixes are finished in one visit. When a part has to be ordered, we tell you the expected date and can often get you some heat or cooling in the meantime.

Credentials that fit the job

We are licensed and bonded in Washington, which matters when someone is working on your gas furnace or high-voltage controls in the middle of the night.

When a call can't wait

No heat below freezing
When the furnace or heat pump stops on a cold Palouse night, pipes can freeze in a matter of hours. Call us at any hour.
Smell of gas or burning
If you smell gas, get out of the house and then call the gas utility. A burning-dust or hot electrical odor that lingers means the system should stay off until someone checks it.
CO alarm going off
Get everyone out and call 911. After the house is cleared, we can find out whether the furnace caused it.
No cooling in a heat wave
With infants, pets or someone with health conditions at home, a failed air conditioner in extreme heat is a real risk, not just an inconvenience.
The breaker trips over and over
Repeated trips often point to a shorted motor or a failing capacitor. Resetting it again and again can make the damage worse.
Water collecting by the unit
A blocked condensate line or a cracked drain pan can ruin flooring and drywall quickly, most of all around a furnace in the basement.

What happens once you call

  1. 1

    Make the call

Tell us what the system is doing and anything you've smelled or heard. If you need to take a safety step right now, we walk you through it while you're on the line.

  2. 2

We give you a time range

You get a realistic arrival window, and the technician phones once on the road. If anything delays us, you hear the new time from us.

  3. 3

Finding the cause and a written price

The technician locates the problem, shows it to you and writes up the cost. Nothing gets repaired until you decide.

  4. 4

    Fix and check

After the repair, we run a full cycle and check temperatures and safety controls. Then we tidy up and explain what broke and how to help prevent it next time.

What decides the cost of an emergency repair

We have no emergency or after-hours fees, so calling at 2 a.m. costs the same as calling at 2 p.m. The price depends on what failed and what the fix takes. You approve the written total before we begin, and the diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair.

What broke
Replacing a flame sensor or capacitor is fast and small. A blower motor, inducer motor or compressor runs much higher in parts and labor.
Whether the part is on hand
Parts we keep on the van make for a short visit. Brand-specific control boards or parts for older systems may have to be ordered, which can mean a second trip.
How hard the unit is to reach
Equipment tucked under the house or up in the rafters takes slower, more careful work than a unit in an open basement or utility room, and labor time follows.
The system's age and shape
An aging unit with several worn parts may need more than one fix. When replacing it is the smarter move, we say so plainly and offer a free estimate on new equipment.

Questions about urgent repairs

Is a nighttime repair priced the same as a daytime one?
It is. We charge no emergency or after-hours fees. The cost depends on the repair itself, and you see it in writing first.
When will a technician arrive?
That depends on how many calls are ahead of you and where our technicians are working. On the phone we give you an honest arrival window, and if it shifts we call right away with the new time.
What can I do until you get here?
In cold weather, shut the blinds, leave inside doors open so warmth moves around and open the cabinets under sinks on exterior walls so warm air reaches the pipes. Run space heaters carefully, well away from curtains and bedding. In hot weather, close blinds on sunny windows and stay in the coolest room.
Do emergency repairs carry a warranty?
They do. Any repair, done at midnight or on a weekday morning, includes a 1-year labor warranty. If our work causes trouble during that year, call and we return.
What if my home is damaged while you work?
Our $1M general liability insurance protects you if an accident happens during the job. We also put down drop cloths and work carefully, so it rarely gets that far.
Can you come out for emergencies beyond Garfield?
Yes. We cover Colfax, Pullman, Moscow, Cheney, Clarkston and the area around them. Longer drives can change your arrival window, and the time we give you already accounts for it.
